Bulletin PTT 004, First Time Home Buyers’ Program, has been rewritten in plain language. The bulletin also clarifies information as to “who qualifies for the exemption” and “when the exemption or refund may be claimed”. The bulletin has been significantly shortened by eliminating the section, “Administrative Steps to Claim the Exemption” as these steps are found in the guide. Also, obsolete information about mortgage paydown requirements for property purchased and registered before February 20, 2008 has been removed.

Bulletin PTT 017, Application to Status Indians and Indian Bands, has been updated to provide information on how property transfer tax applies to Final Agreements or Tax Treatment Agreements with Treaty First Nations.

Bulletin HOG 001, Home Owner Grant, has been updated to clarify eligibility for spouses living apart.
The information sheet, Home Owner Grant Low-Income Grant Supplement Program, has been updated to clarify eligibility for spouses living apart and for persons with a disability, and to advise that the deadline for submitting applications for 2009 is December 31, 2009.

Bulletins, PTT 005, Exemptions for the Transfer of a Principal Residence and PTT 007, Exemptions for the Transfer of a Recreational Residence, have been rewritten using plain language.
