The occupiers may each claim a grant if there is a lease in place for the portion of land on which each owner has a residence. The lease must be issued by the owner of the entire parcel of land, or by a lessee of the owner.
The lease must be for at least one year and not more than three years. It must require the lessees to pay the property taxes.
