Tax Credits – Overseas Employment Tax Credit

If you are eligible to claim an overseas employment tax credit (OETC) under the federal Income Tax Act, you may also claim a B.C. Overseas Employment Tax Credit (B.C. OETC).

As of 2002, the B.C. OETC is equal to the ratio of B.C. tax before OETC to federal tax before OETC:

Prior to 2002, a B.C. OETC equal to 49.5% of the federal OETC may be claimed.
