Natural Resources
This section will provide you information about the various Natural Resources programs run by the Ministry of Small Business and Revenue:
1. Forest Revenue |
The Forest Revenue Branch collects and manages revenues on behalf of the Ministry of Forests and Range.

2. Oil and Gas Commission Levies |
The British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission is funded by industry through a range of fees and a levy on production. The Commission acts as a single-window regulatory and permitting agency for the upstream oil and gas industry and pipelines.

4. Mineral Tax |
Mineral Tax is levied on operators of mines (including placer mines) and quarries. Its purpose is to provide a return to the province from commercial use and depletion of the province's coal and mineral resources.

5. Mineral Land Tax |
The Mineral Land Tax is tax levied on the small number of land owners in the province granted mineral rights under land before 1950. These are known as freehold mineral rights.

6. Mine Health and Safety Inspection Fee |
The Mine Health and Safety Inspection Fee is collected by the Ministry of Small Business and Revenue on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

7. Forest Revenue Audit Program |
The Forest Revenue Audit Program (FRAP) helps ensure the province receives the money owing to it from the harvesting of Crown timber.
